Listed are the week's highlights. Additional articles with complete details are below. Homecoming 2011 t-shirts will be on sale for $13 beginning Tuesday. You can purchase them in the Welcome Center before and after school (7:30am-8am and 3pm-3:30pm). You may also drop by Room 502 throughout the day to make a purchase. There is only one Homecoming shirt this year and it's a great one! All sizes available, youth through adult XXL. Shirts will be on sale while supplies last - don't delay!
Homecoming Bonfire NightThurs., Oct. 13 - Varsity Volleyball, Powder Puff, and Bonfire!This evening kicks off with a Varsity Volleyball match at 4:30pm in the Gym - students get FREE admission to the game! There will be limited concessions at the Volleyball game. Following the game, gates open for the Bonfire Night at the CCA Athletic Complex. We've got fun, food, and fellowship - including food for purchase from Moe's, Chik-Fil-A, and Sonny's. A $5 wristband buys all you can play in the "fun zone!" The bonfire will be lit on the softball field after the sun goes down. Everyone will be directed to the stands for the start of the Powder Puff game at 8:00pm.
Homecoming Football Game - Vote for CCA!Fri. Oct. 14, gates open at 6pm, kick-off at 7:30pmCome cheer on the 6-0 Eagles to another victory, as we play Harvest Community. Our Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at half-time. And make sure to VOTE for CCA - we're up for two potential visits from the local TV stations. Please click each link daily and vote for CCA!! We need your help and we need you to ask your family and friends to help by voting for CCA too! We do hope you'll join us for this fabulous evening of football and Homecoming festivities. As gates open at 6pm, we invite you to enjoy the jumpy house, concessions and other pre-game activities!
Homecoming 2011 BanquetSat., Oct. 15, 7pm at CCAOur Homecoming 2011 Banquet is open to all students in grades 9-12. Attire is semi-formal for this catered dinner. Tickets are $30 per person. The last day to purchase tickets is Oct. 12 by 4pm. You may buy tickets from the Student Activities Club during lunch in the cafeteria and the High School Courtyard or through Mr. Diehl in Room 502. NO tickets will be sold after this time and NO tickets will be sold at the door! Please see information for dress code and behavioral expectations posted HERE.
CANDY Drive for PPPLower School: Bring your CANDY to Chapel!Please send in bags of wrapped candy with your Lower School student on Tuesdays. Candy will be collected at Chapel each Tuesday morning. At last count, the girls were winning with 85 bags versus the boys 30 bags. Who will bring in the most candy? The boys or the girls? There's a PIZZA PARTY on the line! All proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch Party will benefit CCA! Be sure to save the date: The Pumpkin Patch Party will be held on Sunday. October 30 from 5pm-8pm at Christ's Church, 6045 Greenland Road. PSAT TESTING - Wednesday, October 12All students grades 9-11PSAT testing will take place on October 12 on our campus. Testing is required for all students in grades 9-11 from 8am-11:30am. Students in grades 9-11 will then be dismissed at 11:30am. NOTE: Seniors are OFF this day. Very detailed information concerning the testing is available on our website. Osborn Convention CenterLooking for the right college or university? Sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling, this fair will be attended by representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities spanning from Hawaii to Maine and even Bond University in Queensland, Australia! The event is FREE and open to the public. Parking is $5. Info sessions will include Bright Futures Scholarship Program, Federal Financial Aid, College Planning with FACTS.org, Writing the College Admissions Essay, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Scholarship Tips, and Using the Web. CCA BOOK FAIROctober 17-24This year's Book Fair will run from Oct. 17-24 in the Media Center. Through Scholastic, we have set up a link to our CCA Bookfair page. Parents can place orders online and CCA will get credit! All items purchased through the Book Fair provide CCA the opportunity to get needed books and materials for the library. Your purchases actually can help stock our shelves! Varsity VOLLEYBALL Senior NightOctober 18, 7pmYou are invited to join us as we celebrate our senior Volleyball players. They will play Eagles View at home in the CCA Gymnasium. This game will also be streamed live on the internet for those unable to attend. Please use this link to watch the game.
King's Cup Golf TournamentSponsored by Christ's ChurchSponsored by the Christ's Church Sports Ministry, the King's Cup is a two day, team match play event, that will be held on October 21 & 22. The 1st round is on Friday afternoon and the 2nd and 3rd rounds are on Saturday. Rounds consist of various formats: best ball, Diablo (which is 6 holes captains choice, 6 holes of alternate shot and 6 holes of individual). Courses include St. Johns Golf and Country Club, Cimarrone Golf Club, and The Golf Club at South Hampton. Cost to register is $150, which includes all golf and lunch on Saturday. Lower School Permission Slips DUE!Conner's Amazing Corn MazeAll Lower School, grades K-5, will participate in the first ever CCA field trip/fall party at Conner's Amazing Corn Maze on October 28. They will leave CCA at 9am and return by 3pm. We have extended Kindergarten's day so they can participate as well. The students will experience a brief lesson about the importance of agriculture, visit the corn maze, see farm animals, and participate in farm activities such as: riding pedal carts and the cow train, playing in the corn box, and experiencing a pumpkin patch.
